There were no fire rings at the sites... Only seemed like the permanent people had fire rings. They had community ones, but when you camp we don't want to share our fire pit. The owner said people would run over them and things like that. Well if you have that much trouble backing you should not own a camper and why not just move the ring and bring it to the campsite once you check in and say please do not move fire ring. Simple Easy ... Wont go back. No one in office at all...

Hello, sorry you were unhappy with your stay. There are 2 areas that have the community fire rings. The rest of the park has fire rings on the sites. There are community fire rings all around that area that are always empty and anyone can use and they are just across from the sites. If you read the rules it already says do not move fire rings and as you could see there are burn spots from where people still move them. It was the end of the season also as to why we were not in the office for any scheduled hours. Also I would have moved you to another area that had a fire ring but I was in the middle of doing a huge renovation and only had those sites where you were for that period of time.

Camping, Fishing, & Pirates baseball - we had a ball!

Stayed here for four days & three nights August 3rd through August 6th in a campsite across a dirt road from a fishing pond. My 12 year old son had a ball fishing and caught numerous fish in the pond! we also went to a Pirates Padres baseball game @ PNC Park with a Chicago post-game concert! The people that worked there were all friendly & accommodating! Classic vacation mode campsite to relax in! Big bucket of firewood for just $3 and Bob Evans breakfast only five minutes away! Will definitely return to this beautiful campground! To the owner - does this get us a free night of tent camping at a future date? LOL!

Thank you for the positive feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry I can't give you a free night camping as everyone would write a good review just for that. LOL

very nice place

My wife and I had to go to Pittsburgh for My daughters graduation and decided to camp instead of getting a hotel room. My boss recommended Fox den acres as he stayed here several years ago. I have to say I was not disappointed. very nice people both the staff that I met as well as the other campers and the facilities were just fine. If I'm ever coming back to the area I will make reservations at Fox Den Acres again and I will bring better bait to fish with.

Great Place

Our daughter set this place up us for your granddaughter graduation. We been here for about a week great place to RV will be back. The owner is very friendly and the park well maintained.

The place is nice but the guy that owns the place isn't very nice. He has way to many rules. He doesn't let the kids do anything in the pool. I guess he wants them to be robots and do nothing fun. He won't mow the grass if u have a picnic table or canopy. So bugs eat u up.

Hello, sorry you were unhappy with having some safety rules. The rules are to protect everyone from getting hurt. I am not sure exactly what you are speaking of that I wouldn't let them do. Also if you were here for a short period I would not be mowing while your stuff is all set up. If you were here for a longer period of time we do move the picnic tables. I can't be responsible for taking your canopy and moving them as our mowers don't fit under them. If you were unhappy when you were here you should have came to the office to let us know so we could have corrected it.

I starting going here with my parents back in the 80's in a pop up, now I've been taking my 3 kids there in a tent. I've never had a noise issue at night. The fire wood is solid deal, dry but thick cuts that burn a long time. The camp store has everything you might have forgotten, New Stanton / food and sheetz are only 5 mins away. The kids love the pool and 2 slides. Bathrooms are more than adequate. The kids are always catching fish or playing in the large sandbox. Cars and carts are always respectful of walkers and cyclists. The staff at the store are always friendly and helpful. We always leave saying, we had a great time and we cant wait to come back. Fox Den is my local camping gem.

Great Stay

Came in to visit Pittsburgh on the way to FL from NY. Check in was easy and very friendly. Access from highway was very easy though the entrance was just a little tight with a big rig towing with the boulders and such so just be a little careful. Not terrible though. Sites and roads though were reasonably level (enough for coach to level without pads) and well maintained and very spacious. Lots of room on the pull through. VERY big rig friendly overall. Cant comment on showers, bathrooms or laundry being self contained. Very nice park overall and will come back if in the area.

Great local find

As the 1st time owners of camper, we were looking for a close to home camp ground to learn and set up our new camper. The owner, Steve, was amazing. He taught my husband how to back the camper into the site, then walked us through everything from how to connect and disconnect the camper from the truck, how to level it on the site, how to hook up the water and sewage. My son left his hoodie on a picnic table and Steve called us so we could go back and get it. The camp ground was quiet but the people friendly. We were there before the season really started so the pool and bath house weren't open yet. We are looking forward to some return trips when we don't want to go far but to get away. Easy access from Routes 119, 66 and the PA Turnpike. Close to restaurants and shopping. Just a quick trip to Pittsburgh or the Laurel Mountains. A great find!!

We stay every year we come to PA from FL. We really enjoy it here. Nice level sites & quiet. Never had a problem with any of the utilities, Steve is always friendly, grass is always cut in the summer time.
